Housed within the historic Soldiers Memorial Institute, stands a testament to the valor and sacrifices of Central Victorians in military conflicts and peacekeeping missions. Established in 1921 through public subscription, this iconic building is a significant landmark in Bendigo, reflecting both architectural grandeur and profound historical importance. Exhibits and Collections: Visitors to the museum can explore a diverse range of military memorabilia spanning from the Boer War to contemporary engagements. The collection includes medals, diaries, weapons, uniforms, personal effects, and trench art, each artifact narrating a unique story of service and sacrifice. A notable highlight is the Grinton collection, "A Camera on the Somme," offering a poignant visual account of World War I.

  • Opening Hours: Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. 

  • Admission Fees: Adults: $9 Concessions/RSL Members: $7 Students: $5 Children under 12: Free Family Pass (2 adults and 2 children): $25
