Minerva Pool is a picturesque natural waterhole located within Dharawal National Park, near Campbelltown, New South Wales. This serene spot is accessible via a short bushwalk and holds significant cultural importance to the Dharawal Aboriginal people. Description: Cultural Significance: Minerva Pool is a sacred site for the Dharawal People, traditionally reserved for women and children. Visitors are asked to respect this cultural heritage by adhering to guidelines regarding access to the water. Natural Features: The pool is surrounded by sandstone formations and native bushland, creating a tranquil environment. A small waterfall feeds into the pool, enhancing its serene ambiance.

Tips for Visiting


  • The trailhead begins at the end of Victoria Road in Wedderburn, with parking available near the entrance gate. The walk to Minerva Pool is approximately 2.4 kilometers return, taking about 1 to 2 hours to complete. 

  • Facilities: A picnic area and non-flush toilets are located near the trailhead. There are no facilities at the pool itself, so visitors should bring their own water and snacks. 

  • Safety and Etiquette: The trail includes uneven surfaces; sturdy footwear is recommended. As Minerva Pool is a culturally significant site, only women and children are permitted to enter the water. All visitors should respect this tradition and ensure they leave no waste behind.
