If you're looking for a quiet, untouched waterfall away from the crowds, Pengempu Waterfall is a great little hidden gem. Tucked away in central Bali, about 30 minutes from Ubud, this small but beautiful waterfall is surrounded by lush jungle and mossy rocks, creating a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path vibe. Unlike the more famous waterfalls, Pengempu is rarely busy, making it a perfect spot to just relax, take in nature, and enjoy the sound of rushing water. Why Visit Pengempu Waterfall? No Crowds, Just Nature: Many of Bali's waterfalls get packed, but Pengempu stays quiet, making it a perfect escape into the jungle. A Short & Easy Walk: Unlike waterfalls that require long hikes or hundreds of stairs, the trail to Pengempu is only about a 5-minute walk from the parking area. Great for Photos: The jungle setting, misty water, and moss-covered rocks create a dreamy atmosphere for nature photography. A Small But Peaceful Waterfall: While not as big as Nung Nung or Tegenungan, the serene vibes and natural beauty make it worth the visit.

Tips for Visiting

  • Go Early for Maximum Peacefulness: This waterfall is never crowded, but visiting before noon makes it even more magical.

  • Wear Good Shoes: The rocky path and stairs can be slippery, especially after rain, so sturdy shoes or sandals are best.

  • Bring Insect Repellent: Since this is a more secluded jungle area, there are more mosquitoes than at other waterfalls.

  • Not a Major Swimming Spot: The water is shallow and rocky, so it's more for dipping your feet than full-on swimming.

  • Perfect for a Quick Stop: Since it's a small waterfall with an easy walk, it's great for a short visit before heading to other attractions.
