If you're looking for a powerful, easy-to-reach waterfall near Ubud, Tegenungan Waterfall is a fantastic choice. Surrounded by lush jungle, this 30-meter-tall cascade crashes into a large pool, making it one of Bali's most popular waterfalls. Whether you want to take a refreshing dip, snap epic photos, or just soak in the tropical vibes, this place has something for everyone. Why Visit Tegenungan Waterfall? Impressive & Easily Accessible: Unlike many Bali waterfalls that require long hikes, Tegenungan is just a short walk from the parking area. Great for Swimming: The pool at the base of the waterfall is safe for swimming, making it the perfect place to cool off from Bali's heat. Awesome Photo Spots: Between the wooden viewing platforms, jungle scenery, and the cascading water, you'll find plenty of great angles for Instagram-worthy shots. Lush, Green Surroundings: The waterfall is hidden within dense jungle, giving it a secluded, tropical feel despite its popularity.

Tips for Visiting

  • Go Early to Avoid Crowds: Tegenungan gets busy, especially from 10 AM onward. Arriving before 9 AM gives you a more peaceful experience.

  • Wear Proper Footwear: The path down is steep and can get slippery, so good sandals or sneakers are a must.

  • Entry Fee: The entrance ticket is around 20,000-25,000 IDR (~$1.50 USD per person).

  • Best Time for Swimming? Dry Season (April October): The water is clearer and the currents are calmer during these months. In the rainy season, it can be too strong for safe swimming.

  • Stay Hydrated: There are lots of steps on the way back up, so bring water!

  • Check Out the Nearby Cafe Viewpoints: Some nearby warungs and cafe's have amazing views of the waterfall, perfect if you just want to relax and enjoy the scenery.
