Kawela Beach

A Secluded Hidden Gem on Oahu’s North Shore. If you’re looking for a quiet, uncrowded beach with calm waters and a beautiful tropical backdrop, Kawela Beach is the perfect escape. Tucked away near Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu’s North Shore, this protected cove is a great spot for swimming, snorkeling, and just relaxing in peace. With soft golden sand, calm waves, and towering palm trees, it feels like your own private paradise. Why Visit Kawela Beach? Secluded & Peaceful: Unlike the busy tourist beaches, this spot is rarely crowded, making it perfect for a quiet getaway. Calm, Protected Waters: Thanks to an offshore reef, the waves stay gentle year-round, making it one of the best swimming beaches on the North Shore. Good Snorkeling: While not as famous as Sharks Cove, the clear water and rocky areas provide some decent snorkeling with small tropical fish. Scenic Banyan Tree Nearby: Just a short walk inland, you’ll find a massive, picturesque banyan tree that’s been used as a filming location for Lost and Pirates of the Caribbean. Turtles & Monk Seals: It’s common to spot Hawaiian green sea turtles (honu) or even a Hawaiian monk seal resting on the beach!

Thoughts from my Visit

A nice beach that wasn't very crowded when I stopped by and checked it out. This beach had a lot of character and would be a nice place to stop and take a walk, and just explore. Seemed like ample parking available. No actual bathroom facilities, but there was a couple of outhouses.
